CJ and Mommy time

CJ and I got to have a late afternoon all to ourselves today. We had a great time. We went to a local shopping area that has lots of walking paths , water fountains and a delicious frozen yogurt shop. Since it was about 115 degrees out we had to stop and treat ourselves. We had cake batter, CJ's favorite flavor, chocolate and vanilla. Yummy!! It is great to have time with my son and just watch how he observes and takes everything in. Everything is so exciting and fun to him. Oh to be a kid. :)

I love the days....

I love the days when CJ is nothing but smiles, laughs, hugs and kisses. Those days when there are no moody moments, temper tantrums or misguided frustrations! We have been having quite a few of those days lately. CJ must have heard about my previous blog post. He has been extra nice to his mommy. I love it. When my child is fun, he is so much fun! I sometimes wish I could roll and run around with him all day. His personality is such a trip. He is quite the little ham. When he see the people around him get a kick out of what he is doing...CJ pumps it up full force. I learn from the tough days and I realize that they are going to come. It is a part of being a parent. But those good days, they are just priceless. Those good days bring so many joyful moments that I know I will cherish to the end of my time. I love CJ for the good, great and tough. He is teaching me something new everyday!

Mommy Abuse :-(

My precious little angel has started to form a habit of a not so precious or angelic act. He beats me up!! Ok well not really..but my CJ has been showing signs of aggression towards me more frequently. He will hit, bite, pull and kick. He saves it all for me too. I don't get it. Why is he taking out his frustrations on me? I know he doesn't really want to harm me but I prefer his hugs and kisses much more. I have read online that when children do this you should either just walk away or turn them away from you. I have tried...this seems to frustrate CJ even more. I am sure this is a phase and I will be looking into more techniques I can you to get my little boy to vent his frustrations in another way.

More Water Fun..

Every since we have moved to this new incredibly hot city..when have frequented the pool almost 3 times a week. CJ loves the water. He loves playing with the other kids at the pool too. This little boy forgets how small he is and constantly tries to jump out of my arms so he can go hang with the bigger boys. LOL. They grow up too fast. Usually I would just hold him in the pool but decided to finally invest in some water wing floaters. He was a little unsure about them at first. In time, he will love them. We practiced having him float on his own. That was hilarious. They have a little baby pool that I love to put him in. He loves it too, because he is in control. Toddlers love to be in control.

Yummy Spaghetti!

Last night I made spaghetti for dinner. I am still working with CJ to learn how to feed himself. He will be going into daycare soon and the children in his age group usually don't need much assistance with meals. I can't lie, CJ has been very spoiled and I have still been spoon feeding him. He is very good with his hands, however, so I am not worried about my lil boy not getting his share of food. It cracked me up how he made sure to get every noodle in his mouth. He is a very clean boy, even with the messy dish of spaghetti. After a while of shoveling noodles in his mouth he would notice his table was dirty. He would pick up every noodle and place it back into his bowl before he would start eating again. He must have gotten that clean trait from his father.

CJ and the Dancing Water

The other day, I took my lil man out into this ridiculous heat. He didn't frown at me though because I took him to a splash pad. Splash Pads are awesome for the lil ones and older ones alike. I just had to watch him extra close when the older kids started to get rowdy. This was CJ's first time seeing water explode from the ground so at first he was timid. After a few minutes he ran right in but made sure to get between the spurts. He wasn't too keen on getting wet which surprised me but just watch! Next time I have to drag him away :)

CJ's First Year.. the book

I worked really hard to create a lovely book about my son's first year in my life. It is something that i may just have to do for all of his years to come. Shutterfly is a great site that makes it easy to capture those special moments. The finished product looked so professional. His grandparents were so overjoyed. Check out my first book about CJ!

The First Months...

I started a blog about CJ but unfortunately the photobucket was shared between his father and I and many of those photos were deleted. There are still some very cute memories recorded on this first site. CJ's first blog can be found at www.allaboutlilcj.blogspot.com Enjoy :)
